On Saturday there will be a demonstration of Para Badminton between the quarterfinals and semifinals. This is a project from the FELUBA with the paralympic committee and the Rehacentre. Three players come from France to the Coque: Abdoullah Ait Bella (SU5), Marilou Maurel (WH2) et Maxime Greboval (SH6).

They will be joined by Luxembourg‘s successful Paralympic athlete Tom Habscheid specialising in shot put and discus throw. Born on 11 August 1986, he competes in the F63 classification, designated for athletes with lower limb impairments who use prostheses.

Tom Habscheid’s athletic journey began after being inspired by the 2012 London Paralympics. He made his international debut in 2013 and has since achieved significant success. Notably, he won silver medals at the 2014 and 2016 European Championships and set a world record in the men’s shot put F63 event with a throw of 15.10 metres at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai.

At the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris, Tom Habscheid secured a bronze medal in the men’s shot put F63 event with a throw of 14.97 metres – Luxembourg’s first Paralympic medal since 1984.
